SECURED ONLINE INFORMATION SYSTEM USING RSA ALGORITHM

The secured online information system using RSA algorithm (online scholarship application system) is a project carried out due to the need to improve the working system of the Zamfara State Scholarship Board from the slow and unreliable manual means of record keeping to an automated system. The system will be developed in such a way that it is easy to access and manage. A central database will be designed and implemented using MySQL and encrypted using RSA algorithms to provide efficient means of record keeping for students and prevent the system against Brute-force attack and other possible attacks. Hypertext mark-up language and cascading style sheet will be used to develop the Administrator interfaces and PHP will be used as a scripting language to process requests between the client and the database. The system if implemented will reduce redundancy and time delay often experienced in searching record which will minimize stress encountered by staff. There will be a user friendly interface for the system which will help in minimizing the stress applicants usually undergo in the manual application system. It will avoid inconsistencies of records, and improve the reliability of the record keeping system. The developed system will enable records of staff and students to be stored. It will provide an avenue to manage student scholarship records and provide information regarding awards of scholarship. The system when fully implemented will speed up the processing and awarding of scholarships in the state.
