Abstract

Trimble DA2 and UAVs are two modern surveying instrument utilized for this study. This aims to determine each technology's advantages and disadvantages and provide recommendations for how best to use them for various mapping project kinds, to address this issue offers a thorough comparison of UAVs and the Trimble DA2 Catalyst GNSS receiver. Three objectives were considered in order to achieve this; is to evaluate the precision of topographic maps created using GNSS and UAV technology, to assess the efficiency of UAV and Irimble DA2 for topographic mapping, to evaluate the appropriateness of Trimble DA2 and UAV for topographic mapping in the study area. This study was thoroughly reviewed. Field data were collected from the development site using both methods, focusing on parameters such as accuracy, cost-effectiveness and time efficiency, The data needed was acquired, using UAV and Trimble DA2, PixAdCapture was used for the flight planning, DJI Mavic Pro Platinum UAV was used to captured the images, and Trimble DA2 GNSS Receiver and Mobile unit using Penmap for Android was also used to coordinate the 8 Ground markers were placed at strategic places within the study area, the images were processed using Agisoft Metashape, the orthophoto was drawn to scale using QGIS 3.38, as well as the digital elevation model, the contour maps were produced using surfer10, the statistical analysis shows a 2D RMSE is 0.0863 and 3D RMSE is 0.1134 while, GNSS and DA2 and 2D RMSE 278.971 and 3D RMSE 334.252, the result shows that GNSS and UAV is the most
