THE EFFECT OF PIDGIN ENGLISH IN ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF BAUCHI STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This study investigated on the effect of pidgin English in academic performance of Bauchi State University Students. The study employed a descriptive survey method of approach is employed in order to collect data. A sample of 100 students selected from 4 faculties randomly sample after a pre-test that were academically equivalent were used for the study, and responses of 100 undergraduate students were collected and scored. The findings of the study explain the perception of Bauchi State University Gadau Students on the effect of pidgin english in academic performance of Bauchi State University Students. This study examines the effect of pidgin English in students’ academic performance through their reported perception and reflections. It also examines factors that might influence the nature of this relationship, and it influence on student academic performance among undergraduate university students of Bauchi State University Gadau.
