Abstract

ABSTRACT This study investigates the effects of workers’ participation in decision-making on organizational productivity, focusing on Tonimas Nigeria Ltd, Osisioma Aba. In modern organizations, employee involvement has become a critical factor influencing performance, efficiency, and overall organizational success. The study adopts a descriptive research design and utilizes both primary and secondary data sources. Primary data were collected through structured questionnaires administered to employees across various departments, while secondary data were obtained from relevant literature, journals, and company records. The findings reveal that workers’ participation significantly enhances motivation, commitment, and job satisfaction, which in turn leads to improved productivity. However, the study also identifies challenges such as management resistance, lack of communication, and limited employee training as barriers to effective participation. The research concludes that organizations that actively involve their employees in decision-making processes tend to experience higher productivity levels and improved workplace relationships. Recommendations include the adoption of participatory management styles, improved communication channels, and continuous employee training. This study contributes to the understanding of employee involvement in Nigerian organizations and provides practical insights for managers seeking to improve productivity.
