Abstract

The study of fluid mechanics involves the exploration of the behavior of fluids (liquids and gases) under various conditions, including their interaction with solid boundaries. One fundamental concept in fluid mechanics is the Reynolds number (Re), which is a dimensionless quantity used to predict the flow regime of a fluid whether it is laminar, turbulent, or transitional. The Reynolds number depends on the fluid’s velocity, characteristic length, and kinematic viscosity. This project will help enhance the understanding of fluid mechanics in Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH) located at Okitipupa, Ondo State, Nigeria. It will help other students understand the fundamental concepts of laminar and turbulent flow, the Reynolds number, and their practical implications.
