DEVELOPMENT OF BILINGUAL EDUCATIONAL PLATFORM FOR YOUNG LEARNERS IN NIGERIA
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This project aims to develop an inclusive bilingual learning platform designed to support young
learners in multilingual environments, with a special focus on English and Hausa Language. Recognizing the cognitive, cultural, and communication benefits of early language exposure, the platform delivers interactive, age-appropriate lessons through a combination of engaging games, captivating stories, and multimedia content. By integrating audio-visual learning aids, the platform enhances comprehension, making language learning both enjoyable and efective for children at different proficiency levels. One ofthe key challenges in existing educational tools is the limited availability of localized content that caters to diverse linguistic backgrounds. This project seeks to bridge that gap by ofering a rich, immersive learning experience tailored to the needs of young learners in classroom settings. Additionally, the platform is designed with accessibility in mind, ensuring that learners from various socio-economic backgrounds can benefitfrom its resources. Beyond language acquisition, the project aims to foster bilingualism, enhance cross-cultural understanding, and contribute to a more inclusive and culturally adaptive educational landscape. By equipping children with the tools to navigate a multilingual world, this platform aspires to support long-term cognitive development, strengthen literacy skills, and encourage a deeper appreciation for linguistic and cultural diversity. We will adopt an agile methodologyfor building this platform, utilizing python, PHP and MYSQLfor the projects development.
