Abstract

ABSTRACT This chapter introduces the development of the new and improved e-commerce site incorporating an easy-to-use shopping cart system and several other features. With the main focus on providing easy navigation, the site uses advanced features to allow smooth transactions. The platform maximizes the checkout work flow by providing a simple cart mechanism, ensuring enhanced client satisfaction and higher conversion stages. By evaluating the design principles, database architecture, and secure payment gateways within this chapter, a framework is created that facilitates the development of an effective e-commerce business. The site's user-friendliness, ease of navigation, and functionality align with modern trends; moreover, it caters to the growing demands arising from competition in online shopping—it creates room for a dynamic and competitive environment. The Study suggests new ways to minimize the problem of cart abandonment by providing a more straightforward alternative to the traditional systems used on e-commerce websites. The system aims to simplify the checkout process on e-commerce websites with less complex and simplified payment methods, keeping customers from getting frustrated. The system will monitor items in each customer's cart, giving them a time limit of 24 hours to complete each purchase; after the time is exceeded, the items added to the cart will be returned to the store. A link will be left in the customer's history, which they can use to access the item if they still want to purchase it quickly. This will help to combat the issue of cart abandonment and minimize the loss in revenue that e-commerce companies face annually.
