DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF COMPUTERIZED STUDENTS IDENTITY CARD SYSTEM
Abstract
This project designed and implemented a computerized student identity card (ID) system for
IMT, Enugu. The system will allow the admin to generate and print a student’s identity card
from the data supplied by the student during registration. Usually, for a student of IMT,
Enugu to obtain an ID card, the student goes through some rigorous processes which are
stressful, time-wasting, prone to errors and location-bound. Hence, the researcher embarked
on the design and implementation of a computerized (web based) student ID card system that
will allow students to register and view their ID card information from any location in the
world. On the other hand, the admin of the system can login, view or modify student ID cards
and print the ID cards with ease. The proposed system is quite convenient for both the student
and the admin. The researcher used the OOADM modeling tool to model the new system.
MySQL was used to design the database. The project was implemented using HTML, CSS,
JavaScript and PHP. The code used for the project implementation was written in Notepad++.
The web application can run on both desktop and mobile browsers.
