PROJECT REPORT ON THE EFFECT OF AGROCHEMICALS USAGE AND THEIR POSSIBLE HISTOPATOLOGICAL EFFECTS ON RATTUS RATTUS
Abstract
This study investigates the histopathological effects and alterations induced by glyphosate-based herbicides on the liver, kidneys, lungs, ovaries, testes, and muscle tissue of Rattus rattus. Glyphosate, a widely used herbicide, in various concentration of 0.1ml, 0.3ml, 0.5ml, 0.7ml, 0.9ml and a control group which was not exposed to any concentration has been associated with potential toxicological impacts on non-target organisms, raising environmental and public health concerns. Utilizing a controlled experimental design, Rattus rattus were exposed to varying concentrations of glyphosate over a defined period, and their tissues were subsequently analyzed through histological techniques. The study focuses on identifying dose-dependent cellular damage, tissue morphology alterations, and organ-specific toxicological responses. Observations include changes such as inflammation, necrosis, fibrosis, and other pathological markers in the affected organs. The results provide critical insights into the systemic toxicity of glyphosate and its implications for reproductive health, organ function, and overall physiological well-being in mammals. This research aims to contribute to a broader understanding of glyphosate’s environmental impact, inform regulatory policies, and promote safer herbicide usage practices.
