INVESTIGATING THE IMPACT OF USED ENGINE OIL ON CONCRETE COMPRESSIVE STRENGHT
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This study explores the potential effect of using used engine oil as replacement of water in concrete production. The research aims to reduce the environmental impacts of cement production while maintaining concrete's performance. The effects of used engine oil on concrete compressive strength, workability, and durability were investigated. The results showed that used engine oil can be used as replacement of water up to 2% without compromising compressive strength. Additionally, the use of used engine oil decressed workability and reduced environmental impacts. The optimal replacement ratio was found to be 1%. This study contributes to the development of sustainable concrete production methods and provides insights into the potential of using waste materials in construction. The findings have implications for the construction industry and enviroment
