3D DESIGN OF AUTONOMOUS DRIVEN VEHICLES FOR NIGERIAN ROADS
Abstract
This project focuses on the 3D simulation of autonomous vehicles, with a specific emphasis on navigating Nigerian roads. The study leverages existing literature on simulation technology, autonomous vehicle development, and challenges unique to bad roads.
The objective is to develop a simulation platform that captures the complexities of Nigerian terrains and enhances autonomous vehicle adaptability. The methodology involves designing a 3D environment using Unity Engine and programming vehicle dynamics, navigation, and sensor systems using C#.
The system integrates pathfinding, obstacle detection, and real-time response mechanisms. Results from the simulation highlight the importance of vehicle dynamics such as braking performance and responsiveness to obstacles and uneven terrain. The study demonstrates that 3D simulation is a valuable tool for testing and improving autonomous vehicle systems for real-world applications.
