Findings from the study revealed that the types of motivation provided for the library staffs contribute positively to the effective service delivery in the library and also the findings shows that the library faces some challenges in terms of providing motivations to their library staffs. The study recommends that the library management should make sure that the type of motivation provided to the staffs should be of interest to them so as to trigger their commitment and dedication to work and Academic library management in Nigeria should go beyond the conventional methods of providing training opportunities for their staff and look towards the virtual aspect of staff capacity development.
