Abstract

Seasonal variation affects the performance of solar panel. This effect can be severe during dry season. Models have been developed to understand the relationship between dust and solar output characteristics. However, there’s no robust statistical model that can help predict the impact of soiling on solar panel output. this study models the data collected from solar panels, taking into account the modulation of dust particles on them. An experiment was conducted to mine the data, which was then modelled in a statistical platform. The model indicates that in the absence of dust, the panel's output power is 0.0791 kW. The result demonstrates that the data were adequately fitted, as evidenced by a residual sum of squares (R²) of 0.914. This model can be utilised for quick prediction of solar panel soiling.
