ABSTRACT

Effective human resource management (HRM) is crucial for
achieving organizational goals and objectives. This study examines
the role of HRM in achieving organizational goals, using the Civil
Services Commission Zamfara as a case study. The study aims to
investigate the HRM practices and their impact on organizational
performance. A mixed-methods approach was adopted, combining
both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis
methods. The findings reveal that HRM practices such as
recruitment, training, performance appraisal, and employee
motivation significantly contribute to achieving organizational
goals. However, the study also identifies challenges such as
inadequate training, poor employee motivation, and inefficient
performance appraisal systems. The study recommends that the
Civil Services Commission Zamfara should prioritize HRM
practices, address the identified challenges, and adopt a strategic
approach to HRM to enhance organizational performance. The
study contributes to the existing body of knowledge on HRM and
organizational performance, providing insights for policymakers,
HR practitioners, and future researchers
