Abstract

Iron is a vital trace element for humans, as it plays a crucial role in oxygen transport, oxidative metabolism, cellular proliferation, and many catalytic reactions. To be beneficial, the amount of iron in the human body needs to be maintained within the ideal range. The aim of the study was to determine the impact of Iron deficiency in Madonna students. A total of 40 samples in all were tested for the Impact of Iron Deficiency in the estimation of Iron Deficiency Parameters out of which 22(55%) had low impact and 1(2.5%) , giving a prevalence rate of 56% in the study. In the course of the study , it was also discovered that males had a higher prevalent rate of 51% than females 5% in the estimation of both the packed cell volume and Haemoglobin estimation. for the Impact of Iron deficiency among age group showed that age group 16-18(38.5%) had the highest prevalence followed by 28-30(5%). There was no significant difference observed. The study showed that more than half of the male students were found to be Iron deficient than females. To prevent the prevalence of IDA among students, a proper health education to increase knowledge about anemia and its causative factors, benefits of taking iron-rich food, and avoiding unhealthy food and drink intake is needed.
