Abstract

ABSTRACT This study investigates the impact of corporate governance on organizational performance, using MTN Port Harcourt as a case study. Corporate governance has increasingly become a central issue in organizational management due to its role in ensuring accountability, transparency, and efficiency in business operations. The research explores how governance structures such as board composition, leadership accountability, internal control systems, and ethical practices influence organizational outcomes. A descriptive research design was adopted, with data collected through questionnaires administered to staff members of MTN Port Harcourt. The study employed both qualitative and quantitative methods to analyze responses. Findings revealed that strong corporate governance practices significantly enhance organizational performance by improving decision-making processes, reducing risks, and promoting stakeholder trust. The study concludes that organizations that prioritize corporate governance tend to achieve higher levels of efficiency, profitability, and sustainability. It recommends that MTN and similar organizations continue strengthening governance frameworks to maintain competitive advantage and long-term growth.
