EFFECT OF CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL ON STUDENTS' ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE. (A CASE STUDY OF SOME SELECTED SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN MAIDUGURI METROPOLIS, BORNO STATE)

This research work examined the effect of classroom management and control on students academic performance in some selected senior secondary school in Maiduguri metropolis. Borno state. Three hundred and fifty-six teachers were randomly selected from six senior secondary schools in Maiduguri Metropolis to form the sample for the study. Fifteen items questionnaires were developed and administered. The questionnaire was validated by seasoned experts drawn from measurement and evaluation section of the department of education, Borno state university Maiduguri. Apart from the primary data collected via questionnaires secondary data was also used in this research. The economic result of the sample school terminal examination as kept by the schools were collected and used. The mean and simple percentage were used and the research hypotheses Classroom management exerts a lot of effect on student's academic performance of secondary school students in Maiduguri Metropolis. It was among other recommended that; State ministry of education and principals should conduct a regula inspection and supervision on effect of proper management and control, the governmer must ensure the continuous engagement of qualified teachers and adequate facilities ar instruments material available in school. These findings highlight the importance effective classroom management in promoting positive student behavior and academ achievement.
