EFFECT OF FRANCHISING ON ORGANIZATIONAL GROWTH (A STUDY OF MTN NIGERIA PLC ABA)
Abstract
This study investigates the effect of franchising on organizational growth with a specific focus on MTN Nigeria Plc in Aba. Franchising has become a widely adopted strategy for business expansion, particularly in developing economies where rapid growth and market penetration are essential. The research explores how franchising contributes to increased market share, improved service delivery, revenue growth, and brand visibility.
Using a descriptive research design, data were collected through questionnaires and interviews administered to franchise operators, staff, and management personnel. The findings reveal that franchising significantly enhances organizational growth by decentralizing operations, improving customer accessibility, and leveraging local market knowledge.
However, challenges such as quality control, franchise compliance, and operational inconsistencies were also identified. The study concludes that franchising remains a powerful tool for organizational expansion when effectively managed. Recommendations include strengthening franchise monitoring systems, improving training programs, and enhancing communication between franchisors and franchisees.
