Abstract

The increasing reliance on digital systems in educational institutions has highlighted the need for efficient and secure management of academic credentials. This project focuses on the design and implementation of an intelligent document automation system for academic credentials, using Abia State Polytechnic, Aba as a case study. The study identifies the inefficiencies associated with manual handling of academic records, including delays, data loss, and susceptibility to fraud. The proposed system integrates automation technologies to streamline the creation, storage, verification, and retrieval of academic documents. By employing structured databases and intelligent processing techniques, the system ensures data accuracy, security, and accessibility. The methodology adopted includes system analysis, design, implementation, and testing using modern programming tools. Results from the study indicate a significant improvement in processing speed, reduction in errors, and enhanced data integrity. The system also provides a user-friendly interface for administrators and staff. The project concludes that intelligent document automation is a viable solution for improving academic record management in Nigerian polytechnics.
