Abstract

This research was aimed at analyzing Date Palm Leave Ash (Phoenix dactylifera) as fluxing material content. The sample was collected from Acada former site for Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda Zamfara State, Nigeria. It was washed and shade dried. The sample was then crushed into smaller particles mixed with ethanol and heated. The sample was ashed by heating in a muffle furnace at 600°C. Elemental percentage composition analysis was conducted using X-Ray Florescence (XRF), the results obtained shows that Fe2O3-1.00%, SiO2-40.02%, Al2O3-2.70%, CaO-14.03%, MgO-3.90%, K2O-22.90%, Na2O-9.52% and P2O5 -5.10% from the results shown silicon dioxide has the highest percentage composition. The percentage elemental composition shows that K has the highest value of 29.90% and Fe has the lowest value of 1.9%. Tthe values obtained for K2O, CaO and SiO2 are within the permissible limit set by ASTM.
