Abstract

ABSTRACT The project focuses on developing software for a SUG election voting system which enables voters to register and log in using their voter ID, and vote for their preferred candidate by clicking a button. The objectives of this study are to conduct free and fair elections without requiring voters to physically visit polling stations, safeguard data and information through a relational database, reduce workload in conducting elections, and ensure accurate vote records. The system also reduces time spent in announcing election results. Once voting ends, the system prevents multiple voting by allowing each voter to vote only once. The methodology used in this project is Unified Modeling Language (UML), which supports visual modeling, frameworks, and structured system development. The system was implemented using Sublime Text on a Microsoft Windows platform, with HTML, PHP, CSS, and MySQL for database management. The result obtained from this project is a functional SUG Electronic Voting System.
