Abstract

This study explores the use of sustainable construction materials and methods in Nasarawa and Abuja, Nigeria. It compares traditional practices such as mud bricks and thatch with emerging techniques like interlocking stabilized earth blocks and solar integration. Using a mixed-method approach, data were collected through surveys, interviews, and field visits. Results show limited but growing adoption of sustainable methods, hindered by cost, lack of awareness, and weak policy enforcement. The study recommends stronger government support, technical training, and financial incentives to promote sustainable building practices in Nigeria.
