DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A COMPUTERIZED TRAFFIC OFFENCE DOCUMENTATION SYSTEM (FRSC, ENUGU STATE, NIGERIA AS A CASE STUDY)
Abstract
ABSTRACT
Manual methods of recording and managing traffic offences are inefficient, error- prone, and vulnerable to data loss and manipulation, especially as traffic volumes increase in urban areas. This project presents the design and implementation of a computerized Traffic Offence Documentation System aimed at addressing these challenges. The system provides a centralized platform for real-time offence recording, secure data storage, efficient record retrieval, and administrative oversight. Developed using an Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) methodology, the system emphasizes modularity, scalability, and ease of maintenance. Key features include automated time-stamping, advanced search and filtering, role-based access control, and report generation for monitoring violation trends and officer performance. The results demonstrate improved efficiency, accuracy, security, and transparency compared to manual processes. Overall, the system offers a reliable digital solution that enhances traffic offence management and supports data-driven decision-making in law enforcement.
