Abstract

ABSTRACT The increasing globalization of human activities has intensified the need for accurate and accessible information on both international time zones and weather conditions. Existing digital tools often focus on either time or weather independently, compelling users to consult multiple platforms. This project presents the development of a Web-Based World Clock with an Interactive Scalable Vector Graphic (SVG) Map, which unifies real-time global time and weather information in a single platform. The system integrates the Abstract API to retrieve accurate date and time data, and the Open Weather API to provide current weather conditions, including temperature, descriptions, and icons for selected countries’ capital cities. The application was implemented using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SVG technology to ensure responsiveness, lightweight performance, and interactivity across devices. A supporting database stores country names, capital cities, and SVG identifiers, enabling seamless interaction between the map and dropdown list. and map highlighting for visual feedback. System testing, including unit and integration tests, confirmed the accuracy and reliability of time and weather modules, as well as smooth synchronization between components. The system offers significant benefits for education, business, travel, and research, serving as both a practical and decision-support tool.
