Abstract

ABSTRACT Effective communication is vital for organizational success, facilitating the exchange of information, collaboration, and problem-solving among employees. This study examines the impact of communication methods on employees' performance in BUA Cement Company. The research aims to determine the effects of mobile phone communication, printed letters (memos), and email communication on employee commitment. A mixed-methods approach is employed, with qualitative data collected through surveys and quantitative data gathered through questionnaires. The population consists of employees from BUA Cement Company in Sokoto, with a total sample size of 120 participants. The data is analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software, employing regression analysis to assess the predictive relationship between communication methods and employee performance. The results indicate that mobile phone usage, printed letters, and email communication have statistically significant positive effects on employees' performance. Mobile phone usage shows the highest precision in estimating its impact. These findings highlight the importance of effective communication methods in enhancing employee performance, with mobile phone communication being perceived as the most effective method. However, challenges and limitations are associated with printed letters and emails, indicating the need for further improvements in these communication channels. The study contributes to the understanding of the impact of communication methods on employee performance, offering insights for organizations seeking to enhance their communication strategies.
