THE ROLE OF SERVICOM AND NATION BUILDING IN PUBLIC SECTOR: A STUDY OF DELTA STATE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY ASABA DETA STATE
Abstract
This research examined the Role Of Servicom And Nation Building” In Public Sector: A Study Of Delta State Environmental Protection Agency Asaba Delta State, Nigeria, the objective of study is fine out the challenges, role and strategies for way forward in Servicom and Nation Building ” In Public Sector: A Study of Delta State Environmental Protection Agency Asaba Delta State, the research made used of New Public Management (NPM) theory, methodology used is descriptive survey method. The data utilized in this study were derived from both primary and secondary data. The data generated from the primary source (questionnaire) was analyzed using questionnaire with population of sampling size of 60, The study also made use of simple percentage method in the analysis of data derived from the questionnaire and hypothesis was tested using Chi-square method. The findings review that, SERVICOM was specifically initiated to propel a change in service delivery orientation in Nigeria, provide quality service to the people, set out the entitlement of the citizens, ensure good leadership, educate the citizens (customers) on their right, and empower public officers to be alert to their responsibilities in providing improved, efficient timely and transparent services are role of Servicom in enhance Nation Building in Public Sector. It was concluded that seminars and conferences is a function of Servicom in improving Nation Building in Public Sector, Delta State Environmental Protection Agency. It also facilitates a safe and conducive working environment for staff at all levels of service delivery. The study therefore recommended that Continuous professional development programs should be implemented to equip DSEPA staff with skills necessary for efficient service delivery and ethical conduct and Targeted campaigns should be intensified to educate the public about SERVICOM’s services and environmental regulations, fostering greater compliance and participation.
