Abstract

This study focuses on understanding how turbulent flow behaves inside Z-shaped ducts used in water treatment systems. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) was applied using Ansys Fluent to simulate flow patterns, temperature mixing, and turbulence characteristics. The findings revealed that increasing flow velocity improves mixing efficiency but also leads to higher pressure losses and unstable flow regions. The study concludes that although Z-shaped ducts are effective for mixing, careful control of operating conditions is required to avoid energy waste and damage to particles involved in treatment processes.
