Abstract

ABSTRACT This document describes the development of an online bus travel ticket booking system that streamlines the booking process and empowers passengers to manage their luggage way bill and fees entirely online. I used PHP, JAVASCRIPT, XAMPP/MYSQL, HTML and CSS in building the system. Traditionally, booking bus tickets often involves physically visiting bus terminals, waiting in long queues, and facing uncertainty about luggage allowance. This can be a frustrating and time- consuming process for passengers. The proposed online bus travel ticket booking system addresses these issues by providing a convenient and user-friendly platform for travelers to book tickets, browse available bus routes and departure times, select their preferred seating location, and manage their luggage allowance – all in one place, anytime and anywhere. This document describes an online bus booking system designed to simplify luggage management for passengers. The system offers clear information on luggage allowances for each trip, including the number of bags allowed, weight limitations, and excess baggage fees. Passengers have the flexibility to pack within the limits, pay extra for exceeding the weight limit during booking, or even pre-ship their luggage to avoid issues at check-in. An intuitive interface allows users to easily search for routes and fares, select their seats, manage their luggage options, and complete their booking in just a few clicks. Secure payment processing ensures safe and reliable transactions. This system aims to streamline the bus travel experience by empowering passengers to manage their luggage and offering a convenient booking process.
