STUDENTS' PERCEPTION TOWARDS USING AI-DRIVEN FEEDBACK TO IMPROVE THEIR WRITING SKILLS
Abstract
ABSTRACT
The rapid integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in education has created new opportunities for enhancing students’ learning experiences, particularly in the area of writing. However, many studies were conducted on AI-driven feedback, but limited on how students perceive the usefulness of this tool. Therefore, this study investigates students’ perception towards the use of AI-driven feedback to improve their writing skills. A survey research design was employed, and data were collected from 214 students through questionnaire designed in a Google form and shared the link through Students WhatsApp platforms. The data was analysed through a descriptive statistical analysis. The findings reveal that while a majority of students appreciate the immediate, personalized, and detailed nature of AI feedback, concerns remain about over-reliance, lack of human judgment, and limited contextual understanding. The study concludes that AI-driven feedback can significantly support the development of writing skills if used as a complementary tool alongside human instruction. It recommends proper orientation for students on the effective use of AI tools and training for teachers to integrate AI technologies into writing instruction.
