DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF AN AUTOMATED SOLAR AND GAS POWER HYBRID GENERATING SYSTEM FOR UNINTERRUPTED POWER SUPPLY WITH DATA LOGGING
Abstract
This project navigates contemporary energy challenges by seeking a balance between gas and solar energy, acknowledging environmental concerns linked to conventional sources. This pose a critical problem as our energy needs, continues to rise, and the current approach lacks the consistency required. The aims of this project is to design and develop an automated solar and gas power hybrid generating system with data logging of the voltage and power source with respect to time and date of the data logged.
The methodology for the design and development of the solar-gas hybrid system follows a systematic approach which begins by determining daily energy requirements through load demand calculation equations, leading to the selection of components such as inverters, batteries, solar panels, and bulk converter etc. that best suit the load demand. The process design shows the components and subcomponents coupled together to form the system as well as emphasize the sophisticated role of a Microcontroller Unit (MCU) in orchestrating system functions, ensuring energy transitions and reliability. Additionally, a comprehensive data logging system is implemented to monitor power source, voltage level, utilizing sensors and an MCU for accurate measurements.
