Abstract

Abstract The researcher examined the life of the poet and discussed rhythm in terms of its concept, types, and importance. He then addressed the formation of meter, analyzing the poet’s use of poetic meters and the metrical variations (zihāfāt) that occur during their use. He also scanned and analyzed selected verses from each type of poem. Furthermore, he studied the poems in a way that revealed the prevalence of these metrical variations and modifications, as well as their musical qualities. He explained why the poet preferred using them over others and included tables to clarify his analysis. He also discussed rhyme.
