DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF AN AUTOMATED OUT- PATIENT APPOINTMENT BOOKING SYSTEM FOR BAKOR MEDICAL CENTER, CALABAR
Abstract
This project focuses on the design and implementation of an outpatient System. The aim of the project is to provide a convenient and user-friendly solution that enhances the outpatient experience and improves the overall efficiency of the medical center's operations. The mobile application offers various features to both patients and medical staff. For patients, the application allows them to easily schedule appointments, access their medical records, receive reminders for upcoming appointments, and communicate with healthcare providers through secure messaging. Additionally, patients can receive real-time notifications regarding any changes or updates to their appointments or medical information. For medical staff, the application provides a comprehensive dashboard that enables efficient management of patient appointments, medical records, and other essential administrative tasks. The system integrates with the existing hospital information system to ensure seamless data synchronization and accessibility across different platforms. The design and development process follow a user-centered approach, incorporating principles of usability and accessibility. The application is developed for Android platforms, utilizing modern technologies and frameworks such as React Native and Firebase for robust and scalable implementation. The project also addresses security and privacy concerns by implementing robust data encryption, access controls, and compliance with relevant data protection regulations. Privacy and confidentiality of patient information are given utmost priority throughout the development and deployment stage.
