## ABSTRACT
This study investigates the influence of social media on the marketing of library products and services at the University of Jos Library. With the rapid adoption of social media platforms for communication and promotion, academic libraries have an opportunity to enhance user awareness and engagement. However, the extent to which the University of Jos Library leverages these platforms for marketing remains underexplored. The study adopts a descriptive survey research design, targeting registered users (students, faculty, and staff) and library staff. Data is collected using questionnaires and interviews. Findings reveal that platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram are commonly used, primarily to market e-resources, new arrivals, reference services, and library events. The study finds a positive but moderate influence of social media on user awareness and library usage, though challenges such as irregular posting, low engagement, and lack of dedicated social media personnel persist. The study concludes that social media has significant potential to improve library marketing if strategically implemented. Recommendations include developing a structured social media policy, training library staff, and adopting analytics to measure impact.
