Abstract
ABSTRACTS
This research work was carried out on Profile of Macro and Micro Element in some
medicinal Plant used in the Management of Diabetes in Mubi North Local
Government Area Adamawa State Nigeria. The macro and micro element are
determined using Atomic Absorption spectroscopic (AAS). The results obtained for
macro elements are magnesium (Mg) Daniellia oliveri (873.63 mg/100g) is rich in
potassium which insulin regulation while Euhorbia hirta (1528.43 mg/100g) and
calcium (106.47 mg/100g) respectively. similarly the results obtained micro elements
like manganese (mn) leptadenia hastata(25.44 mg/100g) copper (Cu) (4.37 mg/100g)
in Euhorbia hirta zinc (Zn) (16.25 mg/100g) respectively, offering antioxidant
protection and enhancing glucose metabolism. The synergistic presence of these
elements across various medicinal plants supports their traditional use in diabetes
treatment. This study highlight the importance of macro and micro elements in these
plants therapeutic properties suggesting that their combination could provide
complementary benefit in managing diabetes. In conclusion the macro and micro
elements in the medicinal plants as Daniellia oliveri sclerocarya birrea terminalia
avicennioide laptadania hastata and Euhorbia hirta underscore their potential as
therapeutic agent for diabetes management. Therefore the medicinal plants are
potential candidate for the management of diabetes.
