IMPACT OF ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE ON EMPLOYEE MOTIVATION (A STUDY OF DANGOTE CEMENT COMPANY, OBAJANA)
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This research work examined the impact of organizational culture on employee
motivation with special reference to Dangote Cement Company, Obajana. Data
for the work was collected from primary and secondary sources. From a
population of 310 staff, a sample size of 175 respondents was drawn using Taro
Yamani’s technique. Hypotheses were formulated and tested using chi-square.
The key finding is that there is positive relationship between organization values
and employee motivation. It is therefore recommended that every individual has
different culture and beliefs that he works with and when he joins an organization
that has a completely different culture and beliefs from his own, he should be
allowed to internalize himself first with the organization’s culture and values to
know whether he can cope with them or not. It is the ability of the employee to
cope with the organizations culture that will determine how he will perform on
his job.
