Abstract

The study investigates the biostratigraphy and paleo-environment of Well “B” Deposit of The greater Ugbelli Niger Delta Basin using dinoflagellates cysts. In achieving this aim, the following specific objectives were laid out as follows to; Sieve analysis were carried out on fresh samples of the sediments to determine their, statistical parameters, paleo depositional environment and their reservoir quality. Processing of the well deposit samples followed the conventional methods of the disaggregation and removal of carbonate and silicates with hydrochloric acid, sieving over a 5 micro sieve used for complete removal of silt and clay particles. Granulometric analysis of the sediments gotten from well B deposits reveals that the sediments are medium to fine, moderate to poorly sorted, near symmetrical to positively skewed and mainly platykurtic.
