PRODUCTION OPTIMISATION OF A GAS LIFTED FIELD-LIFTGAS ALLOCATION USING PROSPER SOFWARE
Abstract
Gaslift optimisation is becoming more important currently in Petroleum industry. A proper lift optimization can reduce the operating cost, increase the net present value (NPV) and maximize the recovery from the asset. A widely accepted definition of gaslift optimisation is to get the most output under specified operational conditions. In addition, gaslift, a costly a indispensable means to recover oil from high depth reservoir entails solving the gaslift optimization problems. For this study, the depleted FUP-27 well was placed under a continuous gaslift design to optimize the effect of the gaslift on the oil field performance. One of the factors which affects the gaslift performance is the injection rate and depth of injection, which can influence the production rate of the well and directly affect the optimization of the well. For this analysis, injection rate and depth of 0.4943MMscf/day and 8000ft respectively were used for the design. There was an increase in production rate of the two strings in the well yielding 640 STB/day at 0% watercut at 3700psi Reservoir pressure for p4.0 and 1209 STB/day at watercut of 0% at 3900psi Reservoir pressure respectively. Sensitivity analysis were also carried out on the well system. It can be concluded that production optimization of the well was successful since there was an increase in the production rate of the reservoirs as seen by the results.
