This study is carried out to create awareness and increase knowledge of managers and employees on performance appraisal and how it can bring about effective management in banking sector. The research work will be of great benefit to students who are interested in knowing how performance appraisal can bring about effective management in an organization. This study will be of benefit to researchers who are studying the relationship between performance appraisal and effective management. It will create awareness among organizations that are still unaware of performance appraisal as a tool for effective management. To examine the meaning and concept of performance appraisal, to find out the need for performance appraisal in First Bank Plc, Kaduna State, to identify some common appraisal problems and how appraisal can be improved in First Bank Plc, Kaduna Main Branch yakubu gawon way and to examine the impact of performance appraisal on employees productivity in First Bank Plc, Kaduna Main Branch.
