THE IMPACT OF GLOBALIZATION ON DIGITAL RESOURCES IN SA’ADU ZUNGUR UNIVERSITY LIBRARY BAUCHI

ABSTRACT This study aimed at examining the Impact of globalization on digital resources in sa’adu Zungur university library, Bauchi. The study focuses in investigating how does globalization influence the availability of digital resources in sa’adu Zungur university library, Bauchi, and what are the impacts and challenges faced by the library in providing digital resources in a globalized environment. The research also come up with the result this digital resources (podcasts, social media platforms, digital magazine, internet archive, and academic search engines.) can’t be found in Sa’adu Zungur university library, to improve on their Academic activities this resources need to be available., factors that affects the impacts of globalization on digital resources in Sa’adu Zungur university library may Include the following. Insufficient digital resources and databases, inadequate infrastructure for digital resource access, limited internet connectivity, Easy accessibility and availability, information overload. The researcher also gave some recommendations like: the need for assessment conduct in digital resource and infrastructure, Provide regular staff training sessions and digital literacy programs. Unlimited internet connectivity. It is highly recommendable that the university library implements artificial intelligence(AI) and machine learning(ML) for enhanced digital resource discovery and develop a mobile app for library services and digital resource access, they should establish a virtual research environment for collaboration and expandment of open access initiatives and repositories and provide more digital resources in the university library.
