Abstract
ABSTRACT
The study examined the impact of entrepreneurship programmes on unemployment reduction in chikun local government area of Kaduna state. The objective of this programme is to motivate an individual to choose the entrepreneurship as a career and to prepare the person to exploit the market opportunities for own business successfully. Hence in conducting the research work, the researcher made use of questionnaire, reviewed related literature necessary to provide the required data for the study, the data collected for the study were collected analyzed in table using chi square. In this study, the researcher makes a survey of the impact of entrepreneurship programmes on unemployment reduction in chikun local government area of Kaduna state.The findings were that apprenticeship programme have significant impact on unemployment reduction in chikun local government area kaduna state, skill acquisition programme have significant impact on unemployment reduction in chikun local government area kaduna state, apprenticeship programme helps to become innovative in chikun local government area kaduna state. The recommendation were that chikun local government and kaduna state government should encourage apprenticeship by enrolling youth that are unemployed into programmes like automotive technician apprentice, carpentry apprentice, electrical apprentice, industrial electrician apprentice, ironworker-reinforcing apprentice, cabinet maker apprentice, metal fabricator apprentice, millwright apprentice, technician apprentice, welder apprentice, etc as this will not only curb unemployment but will reduce social vices, chikun local government should contract organization involve in skill acquisition programme so that they will organize skill acquisition programme
