Abstract

ABSTRACT The rising incidence of chronic and lifestyle-related diseases in Nigeria and the growing need for efficient healthcare delivery systems have placed tremendous pressure on healthcare professionals and institutions. Many existing systems cannot provide real-time data analysis, contextualized medical insights, or proactive care models that leverage modern technologies. This study presents the design and implementation of an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enhanced web-based health application tailored for Nigerian healthcare providers. The application aims to bridge critical gaps in healthcare delivery by integrating AI-driven health monitoring, symptom analysis, data visualization, and patient-care communication tools in one platform. The main objective is to leverage AI to provide predictive analytics, trend identification, and personalized recommendations that enhance decision-making and patient engagement in clinical environments. The project employed a user-centered development methodology involving iterative prototyping, structured stakeholder interviews, and practical field evaluation. Technologies such as Node.js, Firebase, React.js, and the Gemini API were utilized to build the web app's infrastructure, while TensorFlow and natural language processing (NLP) frameworks powered the core AI functionality. The methodology included data gathering from open research repositories, local user surveys, and health records provided voluntarily by test users. The AI models developed were trained using both local and global health data to enhance contextual understanding. Testing involved functional assessments, user acceptance trials, and predictive accuracy evaluations The system achieved a 91% accuracy rate in health risk prediction, with an average response latency of 2 seconds. Feedback from Nigerian healthcare providers emphasized its user-friendly interface, reliable predictions, and valuable insight into patient trends. Despite infrastructural and digital literacy challenges, the application demonstrated effectiveness in enabling personalized, data-informed healthcare. In conclusion, this research contributes a scalable digital solution to Nigeria's healthcare landscape by combining AI with contextual relevance, simplicity, and secure data handling. It paves the way for improved clinical efficiency, expanded remote monitoring, and stronger alignment with evidence-based practices across urban and rural health centers.
