ASSESMENT OF COGNITIVE IMPAIRMENT AMONG ELDERLY PEOPLE OF GADAU
Abstract
ABSTRACT
Cognitive impairment is a major public health concern among the elderly, with significant implications for their quality of life and independence. This study aims to determine the level of cognitive impairment among elderly people in Gadau. Specifically, the study seeks to examine the association between ethnicity and cognitive impairment, as well as the relationship between marital status and cognitive impairment. A cross-sectional research design will be employed, targeting elderly individuals within the community. Data will be collected using standardized cognitive assessment tools and a structured questionnaire to capture demographic information. The findings are expected to provide insights into the prevalence of cognitive impairment in the study area and identify sociodemographic factors that may influence cognitive decline. The results will contribute to evidence-based strategies for improving elderly care and guiding community health interventions in Gadau.
