Abstract

ABSTRACT This study investigated the China-Nigeria trade relations and challenges of human capacity development in Nigeria 2016-2022. An analysis of commercial ties between China and Nigeria is the primary goal of this research. Examining if the connection between Nigeria and China has aided in the development of human potential in Nigeria is one of the specific goals. to determine the areas where Nigeria's reliance on China has resulted from the trade deficit between the two countries. The investigation made use of dependency theory. The research design used in the study was descriptive. Data was gathered using an approach based on documentary analysis. For this study project, both quantitative and qualitative descriptive methods of analysis were used. The results showed that Nigeria's human capital development has benefited substantially from the trading relationship with China, which has also significantly boosted the country's economic growth, social justice, and environmental equality. Unfortunately, the unsustainable development of human capacity in Nigeria is the result of these three elements not being in balance. According to the report, Nigeria should concentrate on diversifying its economy in order to lessen its dependency on oil exports. This can be achieved by investing in sectors such as technology, industry, farming, and renewable energy, as well as by promoting and aiding the growth of indigenous businesses. The country will be less susceptible to external shocks and have greater opportunities for long-term prosperity by diversifying its economy. Nigeria's business deals with China need to include discussions regarding knowledge sharing and technology transfer. As a result, Regional businesses will be capable to raise their level of competition and technological expertise. Companies in China and Nigeria can work together to build exchange programs that would facilitate talent development and knowledge transfer. Key Words: Trade, relations, human capacity, development.
