**TITLE: DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF A STUDENT QR CODE TIME AND ATTENDANCE LOGGING SYSTEM APP WITH REACT NATIVE**
Abstract
ABSTRACT
A QR code-based attendance system developed using the React Native framework has been implemented to track attendance records at Lead City University (LCU), significantly aiding lecturers in accessing necessary attendance information swiftly and generating reports efficiently. Currently, LCU relies on manual attendance methods, which demand substantial human effort. Automating this process through the developed system can alleviate labor burdens and enhance efficiency, allowing lecturers to focus more on academic tasks rather than attendance management.
The project adopted a user-centered approach to software development, emphasizing usability. Limited in scope to LCU, the project objectives were achieved through the application of various tools and techniques. Objective one involved data collection through interviews, while objective two utilized data flow diagrams and entity-relationship diagrams for design. Development for objective three was carried out using React Native, JavaScript, SQL, ZXing library for QR code generation, AForge library for image processing, and Figma framework for UI design.
Objective four involved rigorous testing and validation by users to ensure the system met requirements. The results indicated that the system achieved high levels of scalability (90%), user authentication (95%), efficiency (95%), effectiveness (90%), user-friendliness (85%), and flexibility (95%).
Based on the study findings, it is recommended that LCU adopt and deploy the developed QR code-based attendance system. Utilizing React Native for development ensures efficient and effective student attendance tracking, enabling LCU to streamline attendance management processes and allocate resources more effectively toward academic endeavors.
