Abstract

This project work titled "The statistical analysis on assessment of treated water distribution in Kaduna state", A case study of Kaduna State Water Board and Kaduna State Bureau of Statistics. The objectives of the study are: to examine if there's significant difference between the mean of annual litre of treated water and projected population of Kaduna state, to determine if there's significant relationship between annual per capital, projected population and annual distribution of water and to fit a regression model that estimate annual per capital. The statistical tools employed are Independent sample t-test and Multiple regression analysis. Independent sample t-test reveal a substantial and statistically significant difference between the mean annual distribution of water and the mean projected population with p-value = 0.000 < 0.05, this implies that adequate quantity of water is not distributed for the people of Kaduna state. The multiple regression model demonstrated high explanatory power, with an Adjusted R Square value of .993, indicating that approximately 99.3% of the variation in annual per capital can be accounted for by the included predictors. The ANOVA results confirmed the overall significance of the model, with an F-statistic of 668.109 and a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05. this implies that the model is fit for prediction. The unstandardized coefficients provide specific insights into the impact of each predictor, where a one-unit increase in projected population leads to a decrease of 0.000 units in Annual Per Capital, and a one-unit increase in annual distribution of water results in an increase of 0.116 units, both the constant and predictors, projected population and annual distribution of water, are statistically significant (p-value = 0.000 < 0.05). To improve treated water distribution in Kaduna State, a comprehensive strategy is recommended, involving Enhance water resource management strategies, review infrastructure development, and optimize distribution processes to address the challenges posed by fluctuating trends, ensure sustainable water supply for the growing population, and improve overall access in Kaduna State.
