INFLUENCE OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY ON PUBLIC RELATIONS PRATICES IN TERTIARY INSTITUTION.A STUDY OF MARITIME ACDEMY OF NIGERIA,ORON

ABSTRACT The main aim of this study was to examine Influence of Digital Technology on Public Relations Practice in Tertlary Institution. A Study of Maritime Academy of Nigeria,Oron. Based on the above, the study sort to fulfill the following objectives: determine the extent Public Relations Practitioners in Maritime Academy of Nigeria Oron utilized digital technology i Public Relations pracrice,identity the aspeet of digital technology that practitioners of public relations practice in Menitime Academy of Nigeria Oron have used.;investigate how the use of digital technology in Pihtic Relions Practice in Maritime Academy of Nigeria Oron have improved mutual relacineship wih the Poblics of Maritime Academy of Nigeria Oron; andidentify the challenges of ing diginal techoology by Public Relation Practitioners in Maritime Academy Oron;the survey method was adopted for the study. The study was anchored on Technological determinism theory and daion of imovation theory. The population for the study was students, staff and selected exteal pantics of Maritime academy of Nigeria, Oron which were 6000. Using philip Meyer's Sormth, the sumple size fot the study was 370. The instrument used for this sudy was qresfiomate. The fndings revealed that public relations practitioners in maritime academy of Nignta Oran unlize digital media to a very large extent and lack of equipment is the major dhalllenge ficed by the public relations practitioners in Maritime Academy Oron in using digital meta.Hence the study recommended that government and Maritime Academy of Nigeria mest shoold provide the public relation practitioners in Maritime Academy Oron with aic inifrastracture to case their practice.
