Abstract

This study investigates the intricate relationship between entrepreneurial capabilities and the adoption of Information Technology (IT) in the construction sector. The construction industry, traditionally perceived as conservative, is undergoing transformative shifts with the integration of IT. Entrepreneurial capabilities, encompassing innovation, risk-taking, and strategic decision-making, are explored in the context of their influence on the assimilation and utilization of IT within construction practices. The focus is on understanding how entrepreneurial mindsets contribute to the implementation of IT tools, ranging from project management software to advanced Building Information Modeling (BIM) applications. Information was collected through primary data and the data was analyzed by using statistical package for social science (SPSS). Key findings highlight that entrepreneurial capabilities act as catalysts for embracing IT solutions in construction, fostering efficiency, communication, and project coordination. Entrepreneurs in the construction domain are shown to leverage IT not only for operational enhancement but also for strategic decision support, aligning projects with industry best practices. The study also delves into challenges faced by entrepreneurs in introducing IT innovations, including resource constraints, skill gaps, and resistance to change within the industry. Overcoming these hurdles is identified as crucial for reaping the full benefits of IT integration in construction processes.
