Abstract

ABSTRACT This report presents the development of an Autonomous Ground Vehicle (AGV) designed for precision agriculture, focusing on automated seeding and real-time soil condition monitoring. The AGV integrates multiple sensors and technologies to perform tasks such as seed dispensing and soil nutrient analysis with minimal human intervention. Sensor fusion using a 9-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and a Madgwick filter ensured accurate navigation and state estimation, while PID controllers ensure stable and responsive motion control. Additionally, a machine learning-based crop recommendation system processes the collected soil data to suggest optimal planting decisions, completing the process within 50 milliseconds for each prediction. The seed sowing function was also evaluated and was found to have a seed placement alignment of 96.9%, row spacing consistency of 94.8% and seed count accuracy of 80.2%. The combination of autonomous mobility, soil analysis, and intelligent recommendation makes the AGV a promising tool for increasing efficiency and sustainability in modern agriculture.
