Abstract

ABSTRACT This project focuses on the development of an advanced ship hull inspection and monitoring system utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to enhance the maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency of vessels. The ship hull is a critical component in maritime transportation, and its integrity directly impacts the overall safety, performance, and longevity of the ship. Traditional inspection methods, such as manual visual inspections and periodic dry-docking, can be time-consuming, costly, and prone to human error. This system also incorporates predictive maintenance algorithms, analysing data from hull monitoring sensors and environmental factors to forecast the remaining lifespan of different parts of the ship’s structure. By integrating AI, the system enhances the decision-making process, providing actionable insights to ship operators and maintenance teams, ultimately leading to cost savings, extended vessel lifespan, and improved safety standards in maritime operations. this project demonstrates the transformative potential of AI in revolutionizing ship hull inspection and monitoring, offering a more efficient, reliable, and scalable solution compared to conventional methods.
