Abstract

ABSTRACT This study investigates the impact of business ethics on organizational profitability and growth, with a focused examination of Union Bank Plc, Aba. In today's competitive and highly regulated financial environment, ethical practices are no longer optional but essential for sustainability and trust-building. The research explores how ethical conduct, including transparency, accountability, fairness, and corporate social responsibility, contributes to financial performance and long-term growth. A descriptive research design was adopted, utilizing both primary and secondary data. Structured questionnaires were administered to staff and management, while secondary data were obtained from reports and existing literature. The findings reveal a strong positive relationship between ethical practices and organizational performance. Organizations that uphold ethical standards tend to attract more customers, retain loyal clients, and avoid costly legal issues. The study concludes that business ethics significantly enhances profitability and growth by strengthening reputation and stakeholder confidence. Recommendations include the implementation of stronger ethical policies, regular staff training, and effective monitoring systems.
